Abstract
Ekonomska nejednakost ukazuje na nejednaku distribuciju svjetskog dohotka i bogatstva. Glavni cilj rada je teorijski prikazati pojam ekonomske nejednakosti te istražiti uz pomoć odabranih makroekonomskih pokazatelja (prag ekstremnog siromaštva, BDP per capita, BNP per capita) ekonomsku nejednakost na svjetskoj razini. Za sekundarno istraživanje nejednakosti na svjetskoj razini korišteni su podaci Svjetske banke za opsežnu usporedbu Sjeverne Amerike i odabranih regija u razdoblju od 1990. do 2020. godine. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da je stanje u svijetu sve bolje po pitanju razvijenosti, međutim kada uspoređujemo Sjevernu Ameriku s ostalim regijama rezultati nisu tako pozitivni zbog i dalje prisutnih velikih razlika koje su se smanjile, ali ne u velikoj mjeri. U radu je provedeno i primarno istraživanje s ciljem ispitivanja stavova vezano uz smanjenje/povećanje dohodovnih razlika u svijetu. Rezultati anketnog ispitivanja ukazuju kako velik dio ispitanika (84 %) smatra da su se dohodovne razlike u svijetu u posljednjih 30-ak godina povećale.
Abstract (english)
Economic inequality indicates an unequal distribution of world income and wealth. The main goal of the paper is to theoretically present the concept of economic inequality and to investigate with the help of selected macroeconomic indicators (threshold of extreme poverty, GDP per capita, GNP per capita) economic inequality at the world level. For secondary research on inequality at the world level, data from the World Bank were used for a comprehensive comparison of North America and selected regions in the period from 1990 to 2020. The results of the research show that the situation in the world is getting better in terms of development, however, when we compare North America with other regions, the results are not so positive due to the still present large differences that have decreased, but not to a great extent. The paper also carried out primary research with the aim of examining attitudes related to the reduction/increase of income differences in the world. The results of the survey show that a large part of respondents (84%) believe that income differences in the world have increased in the last 30 years or so.
