Abstract
U ovom radu se istražuje situacija žena na tržištu rada, s posebnim osvrtom na trendove povezane s njihovim položajem u Republici Hrvatskoj i Europskoj uniji, s namjerom identificiranja potencijalnih oblika diskriminacije. Prikazuje se kako je položaj žena na tržištu rada uvijek bio nešto nepovoljniji u odnosu na položaj muškaraca, unatoč ostvarenim pomacima tijekom povijesti u smjeru izjednačavanja prava i mogućnosti između spolova. Iako su se dogodile neke pozitivne promjene, vidljive razlike i dalje postoje. Žene se suočavaju s izazovima poput niže radne aktivnosti u usporedbi s muškarcima, niže stope zaposlenosti, više stope nezaposlenosti, nižih prosječnih plaća te manje zastupljenosti na visokim pozicijama u zakonodavnim tijelima i upravljačkim funkcijama. Unatoč jasnim pravnim okvirima u Europskoj uniji i Republici Hrvatskoj koji garantiraju jednakost spolova na tržištu rada, postoji tendencija poslodavaca da i dalje favoriziraju muškarce prilikom zapošljavanja, dodjeljujući im više beneficija u odnosu na zaposlene žene. U radu je provedena komparativna analiza ženske radne snage u odnosu na mušku radnu snagu Hrvatske, Njemačke, Italije i Mađarske.
Abstract (english)
This paper examines the situation of women on the labor market, with a special focus on trends related to their position in the Republic of Croatia and the European Union, with the aim of identifying potential forms of discrimination. It is shown that the position of women on the labor market has always been somewhat less favorable than that of men, despite the progress made throughout history in the direction of equalizing rights and opportunities between the sexes. Although some positive changes have taken place, visible differences still exist. Women face challenges such as lower labor activity compared to men, lower employment rates, higher unemployment rates, lower average wages and less representation in high positions in legislative bodies and management functions. Despite clear legal frameworks in the European Union and the Republic of Croatia that guarantee gender equality on the labor market, there is a tendency for employers to continue to favor men when hiring, granting them more benefits than employed women. In the paper, a comparative analysis of the female workforce in relation to the male workforce in Croatia, Germany, Italy and Hungary was carried out. In the analysis, it can be seen that the situation in Croatia is not so bad compared to the other three countries.
