Abstract
Downov sindrom podrazumijeva prisutnost dodatnog kromosoma 21 ili dijela tog kromosoma. Uzrok Downovog sindroma neovisan je o ljudskoj rasi, ekonomskim uvjetima i kulturološkim aspektima. Višak kromosoma u svakoj stanici osoba s Downovim sindromom uzrokuje određene različitosti u odnosu na osobe koje imaju 46 kromosoma. Poneke osobe imaju tek neke popratne zdravstvene, razvojne ili intelektualne teškoće dok druga imaju ozbiljna zdravstvena stanja za koja je potrebna medicinska intervencija nakon rođenja. Promocija zdravog načina života za dijete s Downovim sindromom, kao i za obitelj djeteta, vrlo je važna iz razloga što pruža temelj usvajanju pravilnih obrazaca ponašanja koji će doprinijeti zdravlju i kvaliteti života djeteta u odrasloj dobi. Rezultati dobiveni anketnim upitnikom roditelja 104 djece s Downovim sindromom pokazala su da gotovo polovica djece ima neki oblik srčane mane. Od ugljikohidrata, djeca najviše konzumiraju bijeli kruh, rižu, tjesteninu i krumpir. Svakodnevno mlijeko konzumira 21,2 % djece, 7,7 % sir, a 24,0 % fermentirane mliječne proizvode. Djeca najvećim dijelom konzumiraju voće i povrće 1 puta na dan. Meso djeca konzumiraju najčešće do 5 puta na tjedan, a ribu i jaja 1-2 puta na tjedan. Više od polovice djece konzumira maslinovo ulje, a vodu svakodnevno konzumira 78,8 %. 81,7 % ne konzumira brzu hranu ili rijetko konzumira, 34,6 % slatkiše, a 33,7 % grickalice.
Abstract (english)
Down syndrome implies the presence of an additional chromosome 21 or a part of that chromosome. The cause of Down syndrome is independent of human race, economic conditions and cultural aspects. The excess of chromosomes in each cell of people with Down syndrome causes certain differences compared to people who have 46 chromosomes. Some people have only a few accompanying health, developmental or intellectual difficulties, while others have serious health conditions that require medical intervention after birth. The promotion of a healthy lifestyle for a child with Down syndrome, as well as for the child's family, is very important because it provides the basis for the adoption of correct behavior patterns that will contribute to the child's health and quality of life in adulthood. The results of a survey of 104 parents of children with Down syndrome showed that almost half of the children have some form of heart defect. From carbohydrates, children mostly consume white bread, rice, pasta and potatoes. Milk is consumed daily by 21,2 % of children, cheese by 7,7 %, and fermented milk products by 24,0 %. Children mostly consume fruits and vegetables once a day. Children usually consume meat up to 5 times a week, and fish and eggs 1-2 times a week. More than half of the children consume olive oil, and 78,8 % consume water daily. 81,7 % do not consume fast food or rarely consume it, 34,6 % sweets, and 33,7 % snacks.
