Abstract
Vitamini su organski spojevi koji u ljudskom organizmu imaju važne uloge, npr. reguliraju brzinu kemijskih procesa, utječu na rast i razvoj organizma. Većina vitamina se unosi hranom ili kroz dodatke prehrani jer ih organizam najčešće ne može sam sintetizirati. Vitamine dijelimo u dvije skupine, a to su: vitamini topljivi u mastima (A, D, E, K) i vitamini topljivi u vodi (B skupina i C). U ovom završnom radu opisani su vitamini topljivi u vodi, njihova kemijska i fizikalna svojstva, prirodni izvori i funkcije u organizmu. U okviru rada proveden je anketni upitnik kojeg su ispunjavale osobe starije od 18 godina. Cilj upitnika je bio dobiti povratne informacije o poznavanju vitamina topljivih u vodi, njihovoj ulozi u organizmu te poznavanju hrane koja ih sadrži. Također cilj je bio saznati uzimaju li ispitanici dodatke prehrani.
Abstract (english)
Vitamins are organic compounds that have important role in the human body, e.g. they regulate the speed of chemical processes, influence the growth and development of the organism. Most vitamins are taken in with food or dietary supplements because the body usually cannot synthesize them on its own. Vitamins are devided in two groups: fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) and water-soluble vitamins (B group and C). This undergraduate thesis describes water-soluble vitamins, their chemical and physical properties, natural sources and functions in the body. In this undergradute thesis survey was completed by adults. The main goal of survey was to get feedback of knowledge about water-soluble vitamins, their role in the body and knowledge of foods that contain them. The goal was also to find out do they use any of dietary supplements.
