By entering the European Union, the freedom of movement of goods, services, people and capital is acquired. Freedom of people movement is a segment that will be processed in detail in this thesis. The advantages and disadvantages of freedom of movement can be viewed from several aspects, namely from the perspective of the individual, the receiving state and the state that is losing its population. In summary, the greatest benefit in relation to the number of disadvantages is gained by the individual and the country receiving emigrants, unlike the country that suffers the outflow of population, it certainly has the most severe form of consequences during emigration. After Croatia joined the European Union, the unemployment rate as well as the conditions in the workplace began to change significantly. There was also a redistribution of the labor force, so the former labor overbalance gradually decreased, and today there is an import of workers from third countries. Freedom of movement contributes to the development of all economies, because there is an exchange of people, and at the same time exchange of good business practices around the world. Cultures and knowledge are also mixed, and at the same time there is better cooperation between the member states. Trade between the member states is also more successful, which contributes to the growth of GDP, that is, there is an increase in general prosperity and the growth of the state's economy. The creation of the European Union also created a single market for the member states. The synergy of all the freedoms gained by joining the European Union and the continuous work of all members contributes to the creation of a united Europe.
