The purpose of this final work is to describe the history of e-commerce in the world and in Croatia, to explain the definitions of the elements necessary for opening a web shop, and to show the entire procedure of installing and putting the web shop into operation. In today's digital age, it is hard to imagine any serious store that does not have its own web shop, which has become a new form of market, that is, mediation between seller and buyer. With the modern development of creating websites and shops, it is very easy to create a website with basic information technology knowledge. There are paid and free versions of website builder. For more serious and paid ones, a lot of time and experience in coding in HTML (HyperText Markup Language - presentation language for creating web pages) programming language, and knowledge of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets. style language, which is used to describe the presentation of the written document using the HTML language) and JavaScript and other programming languages. In this paper, we will be based on free tools collectively called CMS (Content Management System). A CMS is a tool or system of tools used to create, modify and delete content from the web without the need to know HTML. The second part of the final work will be practical work, from the lease of the domain and hosting, installation of the CMS system, theme, plug-in for the web store and setting up the web store in its final form.
