Entrepreneurship is the economic activity of an individual by which he enters into a business venture in order to generate profit. Small and medium-sized enterprises represent drivers of economic growth and influence the increase in employment. In modern conditions of globalization, such enterprises face various problems and challenges on the market, and among the very important factors that affect the success of small and medium-sized enterprises are human resources, because precisely the creativity and adaptability of the business entity to changes will depend on how capable and creative the employees of a company are and how much knowledge and skills they have. The characteristics of the entrepreneur are another important factor, as well as his leadership style and business peculiarities, in terms of vision and mission. Two types of factors, internal and external, influence the success of small and medium-sized enterprises. Internal factors are people, i.e. company employees, while external factors are all social, economic, technological, competitive and legal factors. The success of small and medium-sized enterprises is the result of the interaction and connection of the internal and external factors of the business entity's environment. According to the information obtained from the interview, it can be concluded that the key to success is adequate and highquality management of human resources, thoughtful delegation of tasks and motivating employees. An entrepreneur must be persistent and dedicated, creative and flexible, he must know how to adapt his leadership style because it is necessary that, if he finds that his previous way of working does not bring satisfactory results, he must find another way to do it.
